There is an obvious advantage if you attempt at earning a certain master’s degree instead of being proud with your bachelor’s degree. Although you are considered eligible and qualified to pursue a lot of rewarding careers with any degrees lower than master’s degree, your chance to get a better job will be much bigger if you earn master’s degree instead of any degrees lower than that. If you want to become a nurse, for example, you don’t actually need to earn master’s degree in nursing because by earning associate degree in nursing or bachelor’s degree in nursing, you have been considered eligible to take a registered nurse test and to become a nurse if you pass that test. However, if you are able to earn master of science in nursing (MSN) degree, you are not only considered qualified to become a nurse, but you are considered qualified to become an advanced practice nurse as well. As an advanced practice nurse, you don’t necessarily have to work under the supervision of a doctor because you can work independently as a nurse practitioner, a certified nurse midwife, a clinical nurse specialist, or a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
In addition to the benefit that is mentioned above, there are many other benefits that you can enjoy if you try to earn a master’s degree. Firstly, your master’s degree becomes a more powerful weapon in your struggle to find a job. If you apply a job in a company that requires all job applicants to have earned a bachelor’s degree, the HR manager of that company will mostly prioritize you if you have earned master’s degree.
Secondly, higher degree means higher salary. If you are a law enforcement officer who has taken criminal justice degree online program and earned a master’s degree in criminal justice, your salary will be higher than other officers who hold lower degree than yours.
